I stumbled onto your blog (which I am enjoying, having done business in Japan over the years) while searching for Master Ebisawa, a stone artist who was a famous maker of all kinds of granite lanterns and sculptures. Your "Mr. T. Ebisawa" sounds like he may be the man I am looking for. I just remember his stone yard being about a 30 minute train ride from Shimbashi station in Tokyo. I bought three large granite lanterns from him, which he shipped to us here in Denver. If you think Mr. T is my guy, can you perhaps tell me how to get in touch? Hope you are fine, domo arigato, and best regards, Jim FrascheJim Fraschehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15986341027786592766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5909875829446280665.post-27525707336828843302011-01-30T18:46:05.511-08:002011-01-30T18:46:05.511-08:00Have you tried dumplings and roast ducks? I was like Jeff for most of my time in Japan, stuck on duty (the carrier in my case) and didn’t get to see as much as I would have liked.

One thing I do remember is how safe Japan felt. We lived on the economy in Yokohama and Sean (4 at the time) and Megan (2) would disappear all day with their Japanese friends and I never feared for their safety.

You need to consider climbing Fuji-san before you return to the States.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16798806297710725690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5909875829446280665.post-50742334810535106422010-07-28T16:41:24.121-07:002010-07-28T16:41:24.121-07:00I'm so happy for you that you got to see Kubot...I'm so happy for you that you got to see Kubota's work!! i was blessed to be able to attend the exhibit of his kimono at the Smithsonian not once but twice when it was here.
